Harmanpreet Kaur’s captaincy team Mumbai defeated Gujarat Giants in the Women’s Premier League match last evening and registered their fifth consecutive win. The Mumbai team has yet to lose a single Women’s Premier League game. Mumbai has also confirmed its place in the playoffs. Mumbai Indians Women became the first team to qualify for the Women’s Premier League playoffs.
Gujarat Giants captain Sneh Rana won the toss and decided to bowl first. Batting first, the Mumbai team scored 162 runs. Captain Harmanpreet scored 51 runs from Mumbai, which included two sixes and seven fours. Yastika Bhatia of Mumbai scored 44, and Brunt scored 36 runs. In response, the Gujarat team came out to bat and could score only 109 runs in 20 overs. Harleen Deol scored 22, and S Meghna scored 16 runs for Gujarat Giants.
