Last evening, Royals Challengers Bangalore registered their first win in the Women’s Premier League by defeating UP Warriors by five wickets. This is Bangalore’s first win after five consecutive losses. While batting first, the UP team was all out for 135 runs; Harris made the highest score of 46 for UP. Kiran Navagire and Deepti Sharma scored 22 – 22 runs. Parry took three wickets for Royal Challengers Bangalore. Sophie Devine and Asha Sobhana took two wickets each. Megan Schutt and Shreyanka Patil got one wicket each.
In response, the Bangalore team came out to bat and won the match by scoring 136 runs in 18 overs. Kanika Ahuja scored the highest 46 runs from Bangalore. Wicket-keeper Richa Ghosh scored 31, and Hyder Knight scored 24 runs. Grace Harris dismissed captain Smriti Mandhana without scoring any runs. Richa Ghosh and Shreyanka Patil led Bangalore to victory while remaining unbeaten. Deepti Sharma took two wickets from UP. While Harris, Sophie Ecclestone, and Devika Vaidya took one wicket each .
