UP beat Gujarat by three wickets in the third match of the Women’s Premier League. At the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai, Gujarat won the toss and scored 169 runs while batting first. In response, UP won the match by scoring 175 runs. This is Gujarat’s second consecutive defeat in the WPL tournament. Earlier, Gujarat had lost to Mumbai Indians in the First match of the WPL. For UP, Grace Harris scored a brilliant 59 off 26 balls. Harleen Deol scored 46, and Gardner scored 25 runs for Gujarat. Deepti Sharma and Sophie took two wickets each for UP.
UP needed 33 runs in the last two overs to win. Grace Harris and Ecclestone scored 14 runs in the 19th over. Now in the last over, UP needed 19 runs to win. Harris won the match by hitting a six on the fifth ball. For the first time in WPL, a team has won by chasing a target. Now UP’s next match is with Delhi Capitals on March 7.
